What low oxalate diet food lists are out there?
There are a few main ones that most people refer to. I'll start with with favorite...
Trying Low Oxalates (TLO)
The TLO List is, in my opinion, the most thorough and up to date list that is out there. It is updated regularly with new entries, and you can even send in your own food items to be tested. The last time I checked, the price was $60 per item, which could be worth it depending on how set you are on including a specific food in your diet.
The Harvard Oxalate List
The Harvard list is the next best. It is much simpler to read and follow, but doesn't include all of the foods you might be interested in checking the oxalate content of. There are a few generic entries like "veggie burger" and others, that really depend on the brand and ingredients in them. If this doesn't bother you, then the Harvard List might be right for you
The Vulvar Pain Foundation
The VP Foundation also has an oxalate list, but as far as I know, all of its entries are included in the TLO list, with entries from a number of other sources as well

So are all of your recipes low in oxalate?
Even worse than lists full of high oxalate ingredients are the recipes that have a list of mostly low ingredients, only to be finished off with a cup of almonds to ruin what you thought was going to be something you could actually eat.
When I started this blog, one of the main things I wanted to do was to create a recipe book where this would not be an issue. Whether you suffer from calcium oxalate kidney stones, or are implementing this diet for other health issues, this cookbook will be the perfect addition to your bookshelf. In other words, it's time to say goodbye to the days of searching through recipes and buying low oxalate recipe books only to find them full of high oxalate ingredients! And say hello to the Low Oxalate Kitchen Cookbook!
Does the book include low oxalate food options if I'm vegan, vegetarian, gluten free or keto?
This book not only has 88 recipes that are suitable for a low oxalate diet, but there are also plenty of options for low carb or ketogenic diets, as well as for vegetarians and vegans and anyone who is on a gluten-free or paleo diet. Aside from a few dessert options, the recipes are free from added sugar. They are all gluten free, apart from a few that can be made gluten free with one easy substitution.
A different approach to a low oxalate diet cookbook
All of these recipes were developed by an eclectic group of registered dietitians, chefs and writers, with a focus on creating healthy and delicious meals that can be easily added to your low oxalate meal plan. Woohoooo! In addition, they were also double and triple checked by me to assure that they were low in oxalate. Each recipe has an estimated oxalate content per serving so that you can be sure you stay below your daily allowance.
The contributors are from a wide variety of backgrounds and countries, and the included recipes are a reflection of this wonderful diversity. More information and ways to connect with them are below.
